Please note the under-sized King brand main bearings will require machining of the thrust flange to match your crankshaft (they manufacture the flanges thicker as well in case that area of the crankshaft needed machined also).
Other items to consider and evaluate upon the tear down of your engine:
- CHECK FOR SLIPPED LINERS (I have top hat style flanged repair sleeves available if needed)
- Camshaft Bearings
- Camshaft & Lifters
- Pushrods / Pushtubes
- Front Timing Cover or Oil Pump Gears
- Rocker Shaft & Rocker Levers
- Cylinder Head Valve Guide and Valve Stem Wear
- Timing Chain & Gear Set

An engine rebuild or overhaul kit for these Buick derived V8's can range on the low side of $400 for a basic "Re-Ring" kit, and all the way up to approximately $3500 or more depending on what all items are needing or wanting to be replaced. Whether the parts are Aftermarket, OEM, or OE Genuine Land Rover will also make a substantial difference in cost. Typically to remain realistic in price and achieve the most value considering the age of these trucks, I try to use Premium Aftermarket or OEM whenever possible, unless the customer has specific requests otherwise.
